Where does my data live?

In Sigma and your connected cloud data warehouse. An embed is a pointer to a Sigma workbook plus the access rules you attach to it — the report content and the data behind it never live in MyReportPortal. See MRP Concepts.

How does MyReportPortal connect to Sigma?

With Sigma client credentials that have the REST API and Embedding scopes. You create them in Sigma’s Developer access page and paste the Client ID and Client Secret into Settings → Sigma. MyReportPortal uses them to sign embed URLs on your embed users’ behalf. See Connect Sigma.

How do I control what each embed user can see?

In two layers:

• Which reports: embed teams decide which embeds and menu folders an embed user can open. See Creating an Embed Team and Organize Portal Menus.
• Which rows: row-level security in Sigma narrows the data inside each report.

How can I check an embed user’s access before they sign in?

Open Preview Portal and impersonate that embed user from the Preview Mode toolbar. The portal shows only the navigation items, folders, and workbooks that embed user can see. See Preview Portal.

How do embed users sign in?

By default, each new embed user receives an invitation email. If you turn on Bypass email invitations in Settings → Organization, embed users are created without an invitation and sign in with an email code or SSO. See Organizational Settings.

Which Sigma account type do embed users get?

You choose. In Settings → Organization, set a default account type (for example View for view-only access), and optionally allow a different account type per embed user. See Organizational Settings.

Can I serve the portal from my own domain?

Yes. Enter your domain or subdomain under Settings → Domain Name, then add the CNAME and TXT records shown there to your DNS provider. When every record shows Live, the SSL certificate is issued automatically. See Customize Domain.

Can I automate embed user onboarding?

Yes, with the MyReportPortal API. Create an API key under Advanced → API Keys, then call POST /api/v1/viewers to create or update embed users in bulk (matched by email). The API uses the older names viewers and viewer groups for embed users and embed teams. See Bulk Add Embed Users via API.

Can I embed interactive demos or tutorials in MyReportPortal?

Yes. The Sigma workbook is the vehicle to embed whatever you’d like. Since you can embed interactive demos and tutorials in Sigma workbooks, you can embed them indirectly in MyReportPortal.
